MeDirect Bank proudly believes in the importance of music and the performing arts. One entity the company has always held a great relationship with is the Manoel Theatre. MeDirect is supporting the Arod Quartet, one of France’s leading string quartets, with an international following.
About the Arod Quartet
The Arod Quartet is made up of four performers; Jordan Victoria (violin), Alexandre Vu (violin), Tanguy Parisot (viola) and Samy Rachid (cello). The musicians studied at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels, and the group was then established in 2013. In 2017, the quartet signed an exclusive recording contract with Erato. Their first album of Mendelssohn quartets was released later that year. The group has performed at several international festivals and in various countries around the world.
Awards and accolades
The group rose to fame on an international level after winning first prize at the esteemed ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Before receiving this outstanding accolade, the Arod Quartet had already received first prize at the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen (2015) and at the FNAPEC European Competition in Paris (2014). From then on, the Arod Quartet has been on a roll, and presently has no signs of slowing down. In 2017, they were selected as the ‘BBC New Generation Artist,’ and subsequently kept that honour until 2019. Together with this, the quartet also received the ECHO Rising Star for the 2018 to 2019 season.
‘Quatuor Arod: Haydn, Bartók, Brahms’ is taking place at the Teatru Manoel on 22nd May 2019. The Arod Quartet will be performing a variety of well-known string quartets by Joseph Haydn, Béla Bartók, Johannes Brahms. We wish the musicians the best of luck with the concert.
