Corporate IT Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for, among other tasks, the quality of service that is provided to the group employees, mentoring our teams, and encouraging knowledge transfer and growth.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Managing the teams- from Service Desk to Internal Corporate Infrastructure and Windows Production Systems
  • Creating technical architecture models, utilising industry knowledge and technical trends
  • Preparing written reports and other technical documentation that may be necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals
  • Ensuring the right quality of service provided to the group employees
  • Developing tools to automate the development, administration, and monitoring of managed systems
  • Providing training and assisting with end user support
  • Conducting project planning, cost analysis, vendor comparisons, and working on project implementation
  • Providing on-call service coverage
  • Carrying our supervisory responsibilities and mentoring junior staff to encourage knowledge transfer and growth within the team
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees- planning, assigning and direct work; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • Technical:
    • Understanding of IP networking including routing, switching, addressing concepts, voice, storage, and operating systems such as Windows and Linux
    • Operational experience with Windows Server services and infrastructure, with deep knowledge of windows security and configuration
    • In-depth experience with hardware installation, setup, and monitoring, and have knowledge on virtualization technologies such as VMWare vSphere
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with performance monitoring, cloud connectivity and highly available networked systems, distributed on several geographical locations
  • Security:
    • Promoting adherence to security standards, defining processes to guarantee the best-in-class security for network connected systems
  • Leadership:
    • Promoting a collaborative environment where each team member participates and feel safe to share opinions
    • Engaging with team members on regular one to one meetings, providing guidance and constructive feedback
    • Identifying gaps and providing guidance to team members on both technical and soft skills
  • Project Management:
    • Organized, self-sufficient and have the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Must have the ability to co-ordinate with other teams to ensure that project workflow is effectively communicated
