MeDirect Bank Malta plc is supporting the Alive Foundation’s upcoming cycling trip to raise funds for cancer research. The event will see a group of cyclists cover 1,100 kilometres through Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria over six days this summer. MeDirect’s contribution included both a donation from the Bank and funds collected by employees.
Vanessa Farrugia, Legal Representative at MeDirect Malta, said, “For more than a decade, the Alive Foundation has made a massive contribution to cancer research in Malta, raising more than €1 million. Supporting scientific research is obviously key to tackling cancer and MeDirect is gladly doing its bit to support the cause.”
Roberto Agius, one of the participants in this year’s challenge, said, “The support of corporate sponsors is vital, helping us to raise funds as well as awareness of the Alive Foundation and its mission. We would like to thank MeDirect for their contribution as we continue to help Malta based scientists and researchers in their tireless efforts to find new treatments for cancer.”
