Product Owner – Business Intelligence
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join the Business Intelligence & Analytics team which forms part of the Customer Experience department. The team is focused on enabling the bank to enhance customer experience and make the right business decisions through the provision of timely and actionable insight as well as supporting the bank to fulfil its regulatory and compliance reporting requirements.
The BI Product Owner will work closely with internal stakeholders as well as members of the BI team to define requirements and create development tickets for BI projects and initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities
- Enabling rapid, high-quality development by owning and driving the definitions for BI projects and reports
- Providing input internally on the functionality of BI capabilities, identifying technical feasibility of BI projects based on the BI stack and associated systems
- Providing analysis for new initiatives by creating business and functional specifications that are in line with best practices and delivered in a timely fashion
- Translating business and functional specifications into structured JIRA tickets to enable technical development
- Writing functional and technical specifications, including designing process flows with accompanying technical details for implementation by BI developers and specialists
- Ensuring that all assigned projects are delivered on time wherever possible with any risks and delays being mitigated, status being monitored, and updates provided to all relevant stakeholders
- Working closely with the BI management team to organise development into sprints and monitor progress as per the defined business requirements and deadlines
- Coordinating engagement between the assigned BI members to the development stories and stakeholders in order to ensure that all developed reports are fully tested and signed off prior to deployment to production
- Contributing to the growth of the BI team by providing ideas on best practices and associated technical evolution
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT/Finance-related subject or 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong product ownership skills with an attention to detail
- Demonstrated analytical skills, preferably in a data setting
- Good understanding of the analytical processes, architecture and associated workflows supporting BI report development and generation
- Good grasp of technical elements supporting BI processes including data warehousing, data modelling and schema design
- Experience in Scrum and Agile methodologies and proficiency in the use of collaborative tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence…etc
- Self-driven and proactive approach towards given tasks and learning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
