The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, presents Diablo Y Angel at the Robert Sammut Hall , on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th October at 8.00pm.

Overview

Astor Piazzolla was the foremost composer of tango music, who carried the signature sound of Argentina to clubs and concert halls around the world. After establishing the tango nuevo in the 1950s, he formed the seminal Quinteto Tango Nuevo, featuring the bandoneon alongside violin, guitar, piano, and bass. Such formation, he believed, represented an ideal reduced yet balanced orchestra.

Tango Nuevo Quintet composition:

Joe Debono – Pianist, Giancarlo Palena – Accordion, Karl Galea – Electric Guitar, Marco Agneti – Double Bass, Fiorella Camilleri – Flute.
