Today, 14th June marks World Blood Donor Day – a day aimed to raise global awareness about the need for safe blood, as well as, the critical importance of voluntary blood donors. MeDirect retains its’ yearly commitment towards the Blood Donation Unit by contributing several drawstring bags that will be given as a token of appreciation to those who voluntarily donate blood.

The bags donated to the Blood Donation Unit, have this year’s global theme printed on them – “Donating Blood is an Act of Solidarity – Join the Effort and Save Lives”. World Health Organisation chose this slogan to to draw attention to the roles that voluntary blood donations play in saving lives and enhancing solidarity within communities.

MeDirect understands how vital blood donation is and has encouraged its’ employees to donate blood during the month of June – a way of showing solidarity and helping the community. MeDirect would like to thank all its employees and donors who frequently donate blood and encourage everyone to join this selfless cause.
