This International Women’s Day, employees at MeDirect are joining forces to support an initiative created by FEMALE.community in aid of women currently residing in shelters across Malta. Through this initiative, FEMALE.community is asking for people to donate new or used handbags filled with at least five essential items such as sanitary ware, moisturisers, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

In the days leading up to International Women’s Day on 8 March, MeDirect employees have been busy collecting handbags and the items requested. In this endeavour they have also been supported by Metropolis Pharma who supplied Uriage  products at reduced prices. These will now be added to the items collected by FEMALE.community and handed over to various shelters. Through this initiative FEMALE.community and MeDirect are helping women who have faced difficult circumstances to feel confident and supported.

Christina Gatt, Manager – Management Reporting at MeDirect Malta, one of the employees who contributed to this initiative, said, “A small act of kindness can go a long way in boosting a woman’s confidence. We all struggle in different ways and there’s nothing more powerful than lifting others when in need.
