Henry Schmeltzer, MeDirect’s Director of Commercial Strategy and Head of Legal, recently participated in a conference organized by Malta’s Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. The conference focused on the transformation of Malta’s financial services sector and discussed the immediate steps necessary to secure a more promising future amidst a continuously changing economic and political landscape.

This panel was part of a training session discussing Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Typologies organised by the British High Commission, Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) Malta and Malta Financial Services Authority.
Saving Lives: MeDirect staff come together to donate blood
Blood donation is critical for healthcare, and MeDirect employees showed their support by donating blood to mark World Health Day. This act of kindness helps patients in need of blood transfusions during medical procedures such as surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergencies. The event also promoted teamwork and camaraderie among colleagues, fostering a sense of community in the workplace.

Jessica Mangion and Veronica Barbara, Managers in MeDirect’s Wealth and IT Support teams respectively, spoke at today’s Women and Finance Conference. Organised by the Malta Bankers Association and the National Council of Women and supported by the Central Bank of Malta, the conference was a great opportunity to share information on how financial literacy is vital to personal freedom.
