How to authorise payments
If you have the MeDirect Mobile App installed and activated on your phone
You will be automatically sent to the MeDirect Mobile App to authorise the payment.
You can also receive a notification on the MeDirect Mobile App. Approve this notification to proceed with the purchase.
If you haven't activated the MeDirect Mobile App on any phone or mobile device
If you are using a merchant app on a phone that does not have the MeDirect Mobile App installed and try to pay with a MeDirect card
- Open the MeDirect Mobile App on the phone where it is installed and activated.
- Select the "More" option from the navigation bar at the bottom.
- Go to “Authorisations” section.
- Select the transaction from the “Pending” list and authorise it.
If you previously activated the MeDirect app but uninstalled it without unpairing it from the MeDirect Online Platform
- Log in to our Online Platform.
- Click the profile icon at the top-left corner of the page.
- Go to “Devices” section.
- Click on "Unpair".
- Try to pay again; you will be asked to authorise with your web banking credentials.

When you proceed to checkout in the merchant app and select or input your MeDirect Debit Card details before clicking the ‘pay’ button, you will be redirected to the MeDirect Mobile App to approve the payment.
Alternatively, you may receive a notification on your mobile phone prompting you to authorise the payment. Simply go to the ‘Pending Authorisations’ section of the MeDirect Mobile App to approve it.
