Duties and responsibilities
- Management and execution of assigned internal audit reviews including audit scope definition, control and testing approach formalization, managing opening/closing meetings, fieldwork execution, (review of) working paper documentation, reporting writing, and review conclusion presenting to Executive/Senior management and the respective Audit Committees
- Audit universe monitoring (new projects and technologies, adjusted release practice, regulatory changes, emerging risks, and incidents) and priority/risk level scoring. Devise appropriate audit review cycle plans and (risk/control/testing) audit programmes for the audit coverage of the Bank’s Regulatory Reporting (ICAAP/ILAAP, Recovery Plan), Financial Instruments (IFRS 9) and/or Balance Sheet Management (ALM, Funding, Hedging) activities
- Conducting follow-up on (Internal Audit, Statutory Auditor and Regulator) recommendation implementation and action plan realisation
- Working with other 1st and 2nd Line of Defence departments to ensure integrated internal control framework management
- (Peer) review working papers and provide coaching of more junior members of the IA Function. Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. Provide input and feedback during the staff evaluation process. Advise on the annual budget and training plan
- Active contribution to the further development of internal audit methodology, tools, and techniques
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in either internal or external Audit with exposure to ICAAP/ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Regulatory reporting and/or Credit Provisioning, or relevant alternative work experience (e.g. Risk Management, Finance Reporting, Solvency II, …) in at least two of these areas
- Minimum 4 years’ Financial Services experience, preferably in Banking or Insurance
- A good understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (CAD ratios, COREP/FINREP, Pillar III disclosures)
- Hands-on experience with (aspects of) IFRS9
- An understanding of how the Treasury function, ALCO, etc., work , together with the underlying risks
- Ability to interrogate Finance/Risk Management applications and process data into information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
