MeDirect Malta has supported a recent 4-day walk around Malta which raised more than €12,000 for the Richmond Foundation. The event, organised by Stephen Saydon saw volunteers walk from Zurrieq to Ghajn Tuffieha on Day 1, followed by walks from Cirkewwa to Bugibba, from Bugibba to Marsaskala and finally from Marsaskala back to Zurrieq on subsequent days. The funds collected will used by the Richmond Foundation to continue supporting people suffering from mental health problems.
Francesca Farrugia, Chief People Officer at MeDirect Malta, said, “The Move It for Richmond walk around Malta was a great initiative which MeDirect was more than happy to support. Mental wellbeing remains an important and unfortunately still overlooked challenge for many. The Richmond Foundation provides a great service to individuals who are experiencing difficulties and their families as well as helping companies, including MeDirect, to support the wellbeing of employees. It’s an organisation that deserves as much support as possible and I’m glad to see some or our employees also stepping forward to help this challenge succeed.”
Stephen Saydon said, “The Richmond Foundation has been a great help to me in the past and so I decided to give something back. My original plan was to do the Move it for Richmond walk by myself and try and raise €5,000 but the more people I spoke to about the idea, the more people wanted to join, and the more organisations wanted to offer their support. I would like to thank MeDirect, and their employees, for their great contribution and to helping me raise so much more than I thought possible at the outset.”
