MeDirect Bank Malta supports the Alive Foundation and its efforts to raise funds for cancer research in Malta. The Alive Foundation funds Ph.D. scholarships at the University of Malta and specific research into breast and children’s cancers.

MeDirect Bank Malta has once again been honored with the Equality Mark Certification by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE), reinforcing the bank’s unwavering commitment to equality in the workplace and in its interactions with clients and stakeholders.

MeDirect took part in EY Engage with Group CEO Arnaud Denis and Agile Coach Guillermo Feliz among the speakers. EY Engage is Malta’s leading digital transformation event.

MeDirect employees support Nature Trust Malta by volunteering for a beach clean-up at Gnejna and donating towards its Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

MeDirect continues to support Otters ASC, Gozo’s only waterpolo club. The registration event for the club’s summer swimming school recently took place at the bank’s investment centre in Victoria.

Henry Schmeltzer, MeDirect’s Director of Commercial Strategy and Head of Legal, recently participated in a conference organized by Malta’s Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. The conference focused on the transformation of Malta’s financial services sector and discussed the immediate steps necessary to secure a more promising future amidst a continuously changing economic and political landscape.

MeDirect’s CTO Chris Portelli recently spoke at a conference organised by PwC about the importance of integrating IT security from the outset of any technical development within an organisation and that security should be an inherent feature of any application.

MeDirect took part in the Malta Financial Crime Compliance Conference organized by the International Compliance Association (ICA). Martin Xerri, MeDirect’s Senior Financial Crime Manager & MLRO, participated in a discussion called ‘Technology, Data, Automation & People – unlocking the potential of technology’.

Supported by MeDirect, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Michael Laus, will be showcasing an eclectic programme featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Christopher Muscat, Richard Wagner and Joseph Haydn on Saturday the 6th May 2023.

Martin Xerri, MeDirect’s Senior Financial Manager and MLRO took part in a panel which discussed Financial Crime Compliance from an International perspective. This panel was part of a training session discussing Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Typologies organised by the British High Commission, Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) Malta and Malta Financial Services Authority.
